Open Line Live | Aug. 4-2008

This is open line live night. Kevin discusses the seemingly conflicting reports coming from the NASA Phoenix Lander program in which they have claimed the soil on Mars could “grow asparagus”, and then have said it is contaminated with perchlorate (and may not be able to sustain life). He explains why this is not an automatic disqualifier for life. He also discusses the obvious evidence for massive amounts of liquid water on Mars. Specifically, he discusses the massive cyclone (water cyclone) on Mars that was photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope. He quotes NASA’s web site on what it takes for a cyclone to start.
